ISRO, ESA Renew Space Cooperation Agreement Through 2032
India’s space agency and Europe’s space agency agreed to keep working together until January 2032.
Their agreement originally began in January 2002.
The agreement was renewed during a space summit in Paris on September 10.
The agencies will study space weather together.
They will also cooperate on human and robotic exploration.
They want space activities to be carried out more sustainably.
Their partnership already includes Earth observation, satellite navigation, space science, and mission support.
Their recent or related work includes Aditya-L1 and Proba-3, with Chandrayaan-5 also mentioned as an upcoming engagement.
The Indian Space Research Organisation and European Space Agency extended their Cooperative Agreement until January 8, 2032.
The renewal was completed through an exchange of letters during the International Space Summit in Paris on September 10.
The expanded agreement adds cooperation on space weather and human and robotic exploration.
It also recognises the importance of sustaining outer-space activities.
Existing collaboration covers Earth observation, satellite navigation, space science, mission operations, and projects including Aditya-L1 and Proba-3.
