Jalgaon Collector Urges Sensitive Action to Empower Transgender Community

A camp was held in Jalgaon to help transgender people access government support.

District Collector Rohan Ghuge said officials should treat them with empathy and respect.

He said transgender people should be seen as people with hopes and needs, not only as beneficiaries.

Officials explained how to obtain voter IDs, ration cards and welfare benefits.

They also discussed starting businesses and getting loans or subsidies.

Information was collected to help participants receive Ayushman Bharat cards.

Shamibha Patil said transgender people still face problems in education, jobs, healthcare and housing.

Patil asked the administration to take practical steps so the community can live with dignity.
