Andhra Pradesh Approves District Reorganization

The Andhra Pradesh government has made big changes to its districts.

They approved the creation of two new districts, Polavaram and Markapuram, making a total of 28 districts.

Some districts like Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam will stay the same, but others will have new areas added or removed.

For example, the new Polavaram district will have its headquarters in Rampachodavaram.

The government also made changes to mandals, which are smaller areas within districts.

They merged some mandals in Nellore and renamed a village in West Godavari.

The government also talked about giving money to people through the NTR Bharosa pension scheme and for road development.

They also bought a lot of paddy from farmers.

These changes will start from January 1, 2026.
