TGCSB busts Delhi call-centre fraud, 21 women telecallers held
Some bad people in Delhi were tricking people in Telangana.
They pretended to work for a money company called Bajaj Finance.
They promised people loans and asked them to pay different fees.
After people paid, they never got the loan and the callers stopped talking to them.
Some victims were even scared and threatened when they asked for their money back.
The police team called TGCSB found out about the trick.
They raided three fake offices and arrested 21 women who made the calls and one man.
The women spoke Telugu, so the people they called trusted them more.
The three bosses who owned the offices ran away and are still being looked for.
The police took phones and bank books and are still investigating.
The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) arrested 21 Telugu-speaking women telecallers and one male bank account holder in coordinated raids on three fraudulent call centres in Delhi.
The call centres operated from Shiva Market, Delhi, under three teams led by organisers Lalith Singh, Kuldeep Singh and Anil, all of whom are currently absconding.
The network, active for about one and a half years, impersonated Bajaj Finance representatives and lured victims with fake loan approvals before demanding fabricated processing, verification, documentation and insurance charges.
When victims questioned transactions or sought refunds, the accused threatened them with legal action, reputational damage and misuse of their personal information and identity documents.
TGCSB seized 23 mobile phones and two bank passbooks and has so far linked the network to 22 cybercrime cases across Telangana, with further investigation underway.
