MRVC Opens New Elevated Deck at Ghatkopar
The Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation (MRVC) has opened a new elevated deck and the first part of a big footbridge at Ghatkopar station.
This is to help people move around more easily and reduce crowding.
The new deck is 55 meters long and connects the Metro footbridge to the new South-end footbridge.
It also has stairs to the Metro station, making it easier to switch between Metro and train services.
The first phase includes stairs to different platforms and a connection to an existing skywalk.
More work will be done later to add more stairs, escalators, and lifts.
This will make it easier for everyone, including older people and those with disabilities.
The project is part of MRVC's efforts to modernize Mumbai's train infrastructure and make it safer and more convenient for commuters.
MRVC opened a new elevated deck and the first phase of a South-end FOB at Ghatkopar station.
The 55-meter deck links the Metro FOB to the new South-end FOB and provides direct access to the Metro station.
The first phase includes stairs to Platform 1, double-discharge landings, and a connection to the existing eastern skywalk.
Future phases will add more staircases, escalators, and lifts for better accessibility.
The project aims to improve passenger dispersal, reduce crowding, and enhance connectivity between Central Railway and Metro.
