Agra Police bust fake call centre cheating 2,500 people

Some people in a city called Agra in India made a fake company that did not really exist.

They called people and told them there were jobs like supervisor or guard.

They said people had to pay a registration fee to get the job.

People paid using QR codes and apps like UPI.

Then the tricksters asked for more money, about 8,800 rupees, for the job.

After that, they asked for about 10,000 rupees for a joining letter, which was also fake.

Many people believed them and lost their money.

Police caught four people who they say did this.

The police say around 2,500 people in 15 states were tricked.

The accused people are now in trouble with the law.
