Aadhaar Update Fees Rise: New Charges Announced by UIDAI
The cost of updating your Aadhaar card is going up.
Starting October 1, 2025, changes to your name, address, or phone number will cost more, but some updates will remain free for a limited time.
If you update online through the myAadhaar portal, it's free for address changes until June 14, 2026.
If you need to update your fingerprints or photos, that also costs more.
Some children's biometric updates remain free.
If you can't visit a center, they'll come to your home, but there's an extra charge for that service.
The fees are expected to increase again in 2028.
UIDAI has increased fees for Aadhaar card updates, effective October 1, 2025.
Demographic updates (name, address, etc.) now cost Rs 75.
Biometric updates (fingerprints, iris scan) now cost Rs 125.
Online address updates remain free via myAadhaar until June 14, 2026.
Biometric updates for certain age groups of children remain free.
