AI Deployment Firms Challenge Traditional IT Services in India
Powerful AI models are now easy for companies to access, but using them well is difficult.
Businesses often need help connecting AI to old computer systems and real workplace processes.
New companies called AI deployment firms are offering that help.
Cars24 created one called Deployment Inc after using AI in its own operations.
Another company, Wonderful, has also started working with large Indian businesses.
These firms use special engineers who work closely with customers to put AI into production.
They may be faster than large IT companies, but big IT firms have more scale, trust, and industry experience.
Experts say the new firms must still prove that their AI is safe, reliable, secure, and compliant.
Cars24’s AI team launched Deployment Inc with $5 million to help enterprises implement AI agents.
Deployment Inc plans to hire 50 forward-deployed engineers within a month.
Amsterdam-based Wonderful opened Indian operations and plans to hire hundreds of forward-deployed engineers.
Cars24 says its AI systems cut support turnaround from 32 hours to 30 minutes and inspection time from 50 to 25 minutes.
Experts say deployment firms offer speed and accountability, but face competition from established IT companies and strict governance demands.

Focused firms say they can reduce handoffs between advisory, integration, staffing, and maintenance teams while remaining accountable for the final outcome.
Traditional IT Services
Large IT companies may be slower to coordinate, but they offer greater scale, procurement trust, and domain expertise.
Competition in enterprise AI
AI Deployment Firms
Deployment firms argue that they can challenge system integrators by turning AI pilots into production systems and building reusable software from repeated deployments.
Traditional IT Services
The article notes that focused firms do not automatically have an advantage over large IT providers, which already have extensive enterprise relationships and delivery capabilities.
Risk and governance
AI Deployment Firms
Custom deployment companies can tailor AI to fragmented legacy systems and sector-specific workflows.
