Indian-Made Cars Enter Top Five Export Markets in Japan
India's car exports are booming!
Japan, a country that makes a lot of cars itself, is now buying a lot of cars from India, making it one of the top five countries for Indian car exports.
This is a big deal because it shows that Indian-made cars are becoming popular even in countries with advanced car industries.
Companies like Maruti Suzuki and Honda are sending many cars, like the Jimny and Elevate SUVs, to Japan.
Yamaha plans to start exporting motorcycles too.
This export growth is much faster than the growth of car sales inside India.
Japan has become a top five destination for Indian car exports for the first time in fiscal year 2025.
Car exports to Japan jumped to $616.45 million in the first nine months of fiscal year 25.
Maruti Suzuki began shipping the Jimny SUV to Japan in January.
Honda Cars India exported 45,167 units of SUV Elevate, primarily to Japan.
Yamaha intends to begin exporting premium motorcycles to Japan soon.
