Meghalaya's East Khasi Hills Bans Roadside Picnics, Littering

Imagine you're having a picnic, but instead of cleaning up, you leave all your trash behind.

That's what's been happening in a beautiful place called East Khasi Hills.

Because of all the litter – like plastic bottles and food wrappers – the local government decided to stop people from having picnics or leaving trash by the side of the road.

They want to keep the area clean and pretty for everyone to enjoy.

Now, police will be watching to make sure everyone follows the new rules, and cars entering Sohra must have a dustbin.
