Supreme Court to Hear Plea on Protests Disrupting Essential Services

Supreme Court to Hear Plea on Protests Disrupting Essential Services

The Supreme Court of India is the highest court in the country.

It decided to listen to a complaint about big protests.

Protests are times when many people gather to show they are upset about something.

Sometimes these gatherings can block roads and make it hard for people to get to work, school, or hospitals.

The people who made the complaint said it is hard to tell who is a protester and who is just a regular person walking by.

The court also talked about a special place in Delhi called Jantar Mantar, where many protests happen.

Some people say these protests bother the people who live nearby.

Others think protesters should have a bigger place to gather, like Ramlila Maidan.

The court wants to make sure people can protest peacefully, but also that everyone else can get the things they need.

The judges will think about how to balance these two important ideas.
