Surgical Cloth Left in Woman's Abdomen
A woman named Anshul Verma went to a hospital in Greater Noida for a delivery in 2023.
After the delivery, she felt very bad pain in her stomach for a long time.
Doctors couldn't find out why she was in pain.
Later, in 2025, another hospital found and removed a half-metre-long cloth from her stomach.
She says the cloth was left inside her during the delivery.
The woman and her husband complained to the police, and now the doctors and some health officials are being investigated.
The woman had to go through two big surgeries because of this, and she might not be able to have children again.
A woman alleged that a half-metre-long surgical cloth was left inside her abdomen during a delivery procedure in 2023.
She experienced severe abdominal pain for nearly one-and-a-half years before the cloth was discovered and removed in 2025.
An FIR has been lodged against six persons, including two doctors and senior health officials.
The woman underwent two major surgeries and received eight units of blood during the second procedure.
Doctors have reportedly stated that further surgery is not possible, which could affect her ability to conceive again.
