India Boosts Electronics and Medical Device Manufacturing
India is spending a lot of money to make more things in the country instead of buying them from other countries.
They approved $4.6 billion for making electronics parts like phone and computer components.
Big companies like Samsung and Tata will help with this.
The goal is to make India stronger in making electronics and less dependent on imports.
At the same time, India is also spending Rs 500 crore to make more medical devices and do studies to improve them.
This money will help local companies make important parts and do research to make better medical devices.
The government wants to make sure India can make these things on its own and not rely too much on other countries.
Additionally, Apple has exported $50 billion worth of iPhones from India in 2025, showing the success of the 'Make in India' initiative.
Electronics production and exports have grown significantly under PM Modi's leadership, with 46 component manufacturing projects and 25 lakh jobs in the sector.
India approved $4.6 billion for 22 electronics component manufacturing projects, involving companies like Samsung and Tata.
The electronics projects are expected to generate 2.58 trillion rupees ($28.6 billion) in output and reduce import dependence.
Four fab manufacturing facilities, including those of Micron and Tata, will start commercial production this year.
The Centre invited proposals under a Rs 500 crore scheme to reduce dependence on imported medical devices and support clinical studies.
