Cyberabad Corporation Plans Waste Fees, Flood Works and Crackdowns

Cyberabad’s city corporation is planning changes to how garbage is collected and paid for.

It wants to add a waste fee to property tax and may charge different amounts in different areas.

The corporation also plans to get about 3,500 vehicles to collect rubbish from homes.

It says it will introduce four-bin sorting, but has not decided who will provide the bins.

After a building collapsed in Anjaiah Nagar, the corporation says it has demolished 398 illegal structures.

It is also planning major work to reduce flooding, which could be funded partly by borrowing.

A ward-by-ward programme will start another round on November 2.

The corporation says it has found 1,899 local issues so far.
