MbPA to Complete Jawahar Dweep Reclamation in 3 Months
The Mumbai Port Authority is finishing a big project to build more land near Jawahar Dweep.
This will help them store more oil and make it easier for big ships to load and unload.
They are also building new places for ships to dock and improving the roads and paths for moving goods.
All of this will help Mumbai become a bigger and better place for shipping and trade.
The project costs a lot of money and will take a few months to finish.
They also have a big plan for the future to make the port even better.
MbPA is completing the reclamation of 13 hectares adjacent to Jawahar Dweep in the next three months.
The project includes developing 4.2 lakh tonne of crude and product tank storage in partnership with HPCL and BPCL.
A ₹2,700 crore investment aims to reduce tanker turnaround time and enhance crude throughput efficiency.
Additional land reclamation of 18 hectares is planned to support long-term tankage and petroleum logistics.
The Sixth Oil Berth (JD-6) will add 5–6 MTPA of crude-handling capability, strengthening the island’s position as a high-volume oil terminal.
