Bengaluru Residents Clean Streets in Protest
People in a part of Bengaluru called Varthur–Balagere are very upset because the streets are dirty and no one from the government is cleaning them.
They have asked for help many times, but nothing has been done.
So, they decided to clean the streets themselves to show how bad the situation is.
They want better roads, less dust, and regular garbage collection.
They even raised money together to buy brooms and shovels.
One person asked why the government hasn't bought big machines to clean the streets if they have money for it.
This area is near big IT companies and has many people living there, but it's not being taken care of properly.
Residents of Varthur–Balagere in East Bengaluru launched a citizen-led cleanliness drive to protest against civic neglect.
The area suffers from poor road conditions, dust pollution, and unchecked waste despite repeated complaints to the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA).
Locals took matters into their own hands due to lack of official intervention, using collectively raised funds to clean the area.
The protest aimed to highlight demands for basic civic infrastructure, including proper drainage, regular garbage clearance, and dust control measures.
Residents questioned why basic equipment like sweeping machines were not deployed despite allocated funds for cleanliness.
