Andhra Pradesh Police Announces Cyber War Room, District CLIC Teams

Police officials announced a new plan to fight online crimes.

A Cyber War Room will bring together police, banks and telephone companies.

They will respond to complaints made through the 1930 cybercrime helpline.

The first 30 minutes after a crime is reported are considered especially important.

During that time, officials may try to freeze bank accounts and stop more money from being lost.

Special cybercrime teams will also be created in all 28 districts.

These teams will include constables with technology-related qualifications.

For the Godavari Pushkarams, police plan to use cameras, drones and artificial intelligence to manage crowds.

The police also said investigations had not found evidence supporting allegations of love jihad in the State.
