Supreme Court seeks Government reply on CBI probe plea

Supreme Court seeks Government reply on CBI probe plea

The judges of India's highest court were talking about people who may have tricked their way into becoming lawyers with fake degrees.

The top judge used a word, 'cockroaches,' when he spoke about this problem.

Many people then used his words to make funny videos and pictures on the internet, and some even made money from them.

A lawyer named Raja Choudhary asked the court to investigate this misuse of the judge's words.

The judges said they would listen to the government, the police agency called the CBI, and the Bar Council of India before deciding.

The judge explained that he was talking about lawyers who entered the profession unfairly, and that he wanted to clean up fake degrees.

The court still believes that joking about officials and courts is allowed, because free speech is protected.

But making money from a small piece of a court video, taken out of its real meaning, may not be fair.

The judges want to protect justice while also allowing people to speak and make jokes.
