Telangana High Court Questions Finance Department Over OU Staff Delay

Thirty-one temporary workers at Osmania University want their jobs to be made permanent.

They first asked the Telangana High Court for help in 1997 and won an order in 2000.

The workers say the university and government have still not acted as the court directed.

The university’s proposal was sent to the finance department three times, but it was returned each time.

The High Court asked why the department could keep sending it back.

It told the finance department’s principal secretary to explain the decision.

The court warned that ignoring its directions could lead to serious consequences.
