West Bengal Minister Accuses BJP of Mafia Ties
A big fight started in West Bengal between the ruling party and the opposition BJP.
The law minister, Moloy Ghatak, said that the BJP's state president was sitting with people involved in illegal land and scrap iron businesses.
He also said that the BJP brings in leaders from outside to spread lies and tries to remove real voters' names before the 2026 elections.
The BJP denied these claims and said that the central agencies are already investigating these mafias.
They also questioned why the law minister was being investigated by these agencies.
West Bengal Law Minister Moloy Ghatak accused BJP state president Shamik Bhattacharya of associating with land and scrap iron mafia during a party meeting in Asansol.
Ghatak claimed that the BJP brings in leaders from outside Bengal to spread lies and manipulate the electoral roll ahead of the 2026 Assembly polls.
The BJP denied the allegations and stated that central agencies are already investigating the mafias in the region.
Ghatak predicted that the Trinamul Congress would win all nine Assembly seats in West Burdwan in the 2026 elections.
The BJP questioned the law minister's own involvement with mafias, citing investigations by central agencies against him.
