Rajkumar Hirani Says AI Will Transform the Future of Filmmaking
Rajkumar Hirani is a filmmaker who believes AI will change how movies are made.
He says AI could someday create an entire film.
This might make filmmaking less expensive and require less effort.
However, making good AI images and scenes is not as simple as typing a few words.
Filmmakers may need to research carefully and plan the beginning and ending of each shot.
Hirani says AI can already create the world around actors in imaginative ways.
He also says the technology cannot always produce the exact expressions or performances filmmakers want.
Hirani compares AI’s impact to the earlier use of green screens.
For now, he thinks filmmakers should use both AI and regular cameras while learning how the technology works.
Rajkumar Hirani predicts artificial intelligence could eventually enable films to be made entirely through AI.
He says AI is a filmmaking “game changer” that could reduce production costs and effort.
Hirani cautions that effective AI filmmaking requires extensive research, not merely entering prompts.
His entirely AI-crafted film for Bajaj’s centenary demonstrated the technology’s creative potential.
For now, Hirani recommends combining AI with traditional filming while the industry adapts.
