Pune Artist Prachi Dhabal Deb Wins Global Royal Icing Award
Prachi Dhabal Deb is an artist from Pune who makes detailed designs using Royal Icing.
Royal Icing is a special icing used to decorate cakes and create edible artwork.
She was named Global Royal Icing Cake Artist of the Year 2026 in Australia.
The judges considered her overall work from the previous year, rather than just one cake.
Four artists from India, Malaysia and Taiwan reached the final stage, and Deb was the only finalist from India.
Her designs are inspired by Indian buildings, textiles, jewellery and cultural traditions.
She could not travel to the award ceremony because of health issues.
Deb previously worked as a financial analyst before becoming a professional cake artist.
Pune-based artist Prachi Dhabal Deb won Global Royal Icing Cake Artist of the Year 2026.
The award was presented at the ACADA Australasian Cake Oscar Awards gala in South Brisbane, Australia, on August 1.
Deb was the sole Indian finalist among four artists shortlisted from India, Malaysia and Taiwan.
Her work combines Royal Icing, architecture, sculpture and Indian heritage-inspired designs.
Deb could not attend the ceremony because of health issues and has received several earlier international recognitions.
