Uttarakhand Rivers Swell, 109 Roads Closed, Yatra Suspended

Heavy rain in Uttarakhand made big rivers like the Ganga rise higher than normal.

The water pushed the rivers over warning lines, and landslides blocked many roads.

Because of the danger, the state closed 109 roads and stopped the famous Char Dham Yatra pilgrimage.

People were told to stay away from riverbanks and move to safer places.

The Ganga was almost at a dangerous level, and other rivers like the Alaknanda, Mandakini, and Kali were also very high.
