Panel Highlights Low Funding for Aviation Safety in India
A group of people in the government looked at how money is being spent on planes in India.
They found that not enough money is given to help investigate plane accidents and keep things safe.
Even though more people are flying, the money for safety hasn't increased as much.
They suggest giving more money to the people who investigate accidents so they can do their job better.
They also noted that the DGCA gets the most money and they are not sure why.
Parliamentary panel report flagged AAIB's modest budget.
India's aviation market is the third largest globally, with domestic traffic projected to grow.
Budgetary allocation for security infrastructure and accident investigation remains low at ₹35 crore.
The DGCA receives nearly half the capital budget allocation, while BCAS and AAIB receive less.
Panel recommends balanced allocation to address gaps in security and investigative resources.
