Mumbai Reports 1.28 Lakh Stray Dog Bites in 2024
In 2024, over 1.28 lakh people in Mumbai were bitten by stray dogs.
This is a big problem, so the government is trying to control the number of stray dogs by giving them shots and making sure they don't have puppies.
They are also looking for places to keep the dogs that are very aggressive or sick.
In Nagpur, almost 9,500 people were bitten by stray dogs.
The government is working hard to make sure people are safe from these dogs.
Mumbai recorded over 1.28 lakh stray dog bites in 2024.
Nagpur reported more than 9,400 dog bites in the same year.
The BMC's survey showed a decrease in the stray dog population from 95,172 in 2014 to 90,757 in 2024.
Authorities are implementing sterilization, vaccination, and rabies eradication programs to control the stray dog population.
