CBI Books Seven Over Alleged FCRA Fund Violations

India’s Central Bureau of Investigation has opened a case against seven accused people and an organization called The Timothy Initiative.

The case concerns money that allegedly came from outside India.

Investigators say about Rs 92.55 crore was withdrawn using foreign bank cards.

They allege that the money was taken from ATMs in different parts of India.

One person was reportedly found with 24 foreign debit cards at Bengaluru airport.

The cards were allegedly printed in another person’s name to hide who used them.

Investigators also say more than 1,000 similar cards were distributed.

The allegations have not been established in court.
