BPCL, CSE Partner on Biofuels and Circular Economy
BPCL and CSE agreed to work together on cleaner fuels and better use of waste.
Their work will include Compressed Biogas and other biofuels.
They will study where materials for these fuels come from and how to move them through supply chains.
They will also examine ways to turn biomass and waste into useful resources.
The organisations plan to test technologies through pilot projects.
They will study useful products left over from making biofuels.
They may also look at earning carbon credits from bioenergy projects.
Each specific project will be covered by its own agreement.
Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd and the Centre for Science and Environment signed a biofuels and circular economy MoU on September 2, 2026.
The agreement covers Compressed Biogas, feedstock assessment, supply chains, waste management, technology evaluation and pilot projects.
The organisations will assess biofuel by-products including fermented organic manure, digestate, Bio-CO₂ and DDGS.
The partnership will explore market development, capacity building, knowledge sharing and potential carbon credits.
