Fadnavis Predicts Thackeray Alliance Impact Ahead of Mumbai Polls
The Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, said that the alliance between Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray won't make a big difference in the upcoming Mumbai city elections.
He believes his party, the BJP, will win in most places and that Raj Thackeray will lose the most from this alliance.
Fadnavis also talked about stopping big projects because they cost too much and promised to make the city's administration better.
He said his party is strong among Marathi voters and will focus on improving Mumbai's environment and infrastructure.
The elections are happening on January 15.
The BJP and the Thackeray alliance have different views on who should be the mayor and how strong their alliance is.
The BJP thinks the Thackeray alliance is not very committed, while the Thackeray side is trying to get more Marathi votes.
Fadnavis dismissed the impact of the Thackeray alliance in Mumbai's municipal elections, predicting Raj Thackeray will be the biggest loser.
The BJP-led Mahayuti alliance is expected to win mayorships in 27 of 29 municipal corporations.
Fadnavis highlighted his party's focus on development and transparency, stopping projects worth Rs 40,000 crore due to cost overruns.
The BJP claims strong support among Marathi voters and aims to improve Mumbai's civic administration and environment.
