Maharashtra Approves Metro Line 11; Awaits Central Approval
Imagine a new train line is being built in Mumbai!
It's called Metro Line 11.
The government in Maharashtra has said it's okay to build it, specifically the underground part.
This train line will go from Wadala to the Gateway of India, making it easier to get around.
First, the central government in India needs to give it the final okay.
After that, they'll get a loan, probably from Japan.
Then, they'll start building the train stations and tracks.
The new line will connect to other trains like the Green Line, Aqua Line, and even the regular trains.
It will run underground for most of the way and will make it easier to get around the city, especially in the east and south areas.
Maharashtra cabinet approved the underground corridor for Metro Line 11.
The project connects Anik Depot (Wadala) to the Gateway of India.
The line is 17.51 km long with 13 underground stations.
The project awaits central government approval and loan finalization.
The corridor is funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
