ChatGPT Introduces Instant Checkout for Seamless Shopping
OpenAI's ChatGPT now lets you buy things without leaving the chat.
If you are in the US, you can shop from Etsy stores and soon Shopify shops directly in ChatGPT.
When you find something you like, click the buy button.
Then enter your payment info inside the chat.
The new tool, called Instant Checkout, is available for shoppers to make purchases directly from the chatbot.
This new system uses something called the Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP), which OpenAI made open source so more people can use it.
Merchants pay a small fee for Instant Checkout, but it is free for shoppers.
ChatGPT's new 'Instant Checkout' feature allows direct purchases within the chat.
Available in the U.S. for Etsy sellers and expanding to Shopify merchants.
Users can browse, select, and buy products without leaving the chat.
