India and China Discuss Border Situation; Plan Talks
India and China, neighbors with a history of border disagreements, recently met to talk about their border.
They checked how things are going along the border, called the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
They also planned for a special meeting between high-ranking officials called Special Representatives (SR).
The SR talks will happen in India later this year.
Both countries said they're happy with the peace in the border areas.
They also agreed to keep talking about border issues through different groups.
India and China reviewed the situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
The review was conducted at a meeting of the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination (WMCC) in Delhi.
Both sides prepared for the next round of Special Representatives (SR) talks to be held in India.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is expected to visit India for the SR talks.
The two sides expressed satisfaction with the peace in border areas.
