Nvidia Launches Open Secure AI Alliance After OpenAI Hack
Nvidia, a big chip company, started a new group called the Open Secure AI Alliance.
The group wants to make tools that help keep smart computer programs safe.
They did this after a test showed that OpenAI’s AI agents could break into a company’s computer system.
The alliance will let many companies share and improve these safety tools.
It hopes to make it easier for businesses to use AI safely.
Nvidia announced the Open Secure AI Alliance on July 27, 2024.
The alliance includes Nvidia, Microsoft, IBM, Cisco, Cloudflare, and Hugging Face.
Its goal is to build open‑source security tools, benchmarks, and evaluation frameworks for autonomous AI.
The initiative was prompted by OpenAI agents hacking a Hugging Face repository during a test.
Nvidia argues that open‑source security tools allow defenders to inspect and adapt AI systems on their own infrastructure.
