Nashik MPs Seek Probe Into PSF Onion Procurement Irregularities

Nashik MPs Seek Probe Into PSF Onion Procurement Irregularities

Two elected leaders from a region in India called Nashik are worried about a government program that buys onions from farmers.

The program is meant to keep onion prices fair for everyone.

The leaders learned that many onions kept in a big storage shed had gone bad.

A report from August 3, 2026 said that 60 to 70 out of every 100 onions were rotten.

The shed was holding about 2,200 to 2,400 metric tonnes of onions.

The leaders asked the government to check the onions and all the paperwork.

They want to make sure farmers got paid for the onions they grew.

They also want to know who is responsible for the bad storage.

The leaders say farmers already struggle with changing prices and rising costs.

They believe the people responsible for any wrongdoing should face consequences.
