Tamil Nadu Allocates Rs 20 Crore to Curb Human-Elephant Conflict

Elephants are big, gentle animals, but sometimes they come into villages and farms looking for food.

When that happens, it can be dangerous for people and for the elephants.

The government of Tamil Nadu wants to help both people and elephants.

It has set aside Rs 20 crore, which is a very large amount of money, for this special mission.

The plan includes taking care of forests so elephants have enough grass, water and space.

Workers will fix fences and build barriers to gently guide elephants back to the forest.

Smart computer programs will watch for elephants and warn villages early if one is coming.

More forest officers will also patrol the areas where elephants live.

The minister asked farmers and local people to tell the forest department if they see an elephant.

This way, elephants can stay safe in their homes and people can live without fear.
