Pune: PMC Demolishes Illegal Shops in NIBM Road Encroachment Drive

The city government in Pune sent workers and big machines to a busy road called NIBM Road.

They knocked down little shops that were built without permission.

These shops were standing on public land and making the road too narrow.

Cars and buses had a hard time getting through because of all the traffic.

The workers used big machines called excavators to take the shops down.

Police officers came along to make sure everything stayed safe and calm.

The city says these shops were illegal because nobody had permission to build them.

Taking them down gives more space for people walking and driving.

The people who live nearby are happy about it.

The city plans to do the same thing in other areas too.
