Canada Raises Financial Requirements for Study Permits
Starting September 1, 2025, Canada is increasing the amount of money international students need to prove they have to study there.
Single students will need to show they have about CA$22,895, which is about $2,260 more than before.
If students bring family members, they need to show even more money.
For example, a family of four needs to have about CA$42,543.
This change aims to make sure students and their families have enough money to live on while they study.
Canada is increasing the minimum proof of funds required for international students.
The new requirement takes effect for applications on or after September 1, 2025.
Single applicants will need to show CA$22,895, an increase of CA$2,260.
The requirement scales upwards for students with dependents.
