Thackeray Criticizes Actors Living in Dubai
Raj Thackeray, a political leader in India, spoke at a party event in Mumbai.
He asked two famous actors, Vivek Oberoi and R Madhavan, why they live in Dubai even though they say they support the Indian Prime Minister.
He said it seems odd to praise the country and then live elsewhere.
The actors said they moved for personal reasons: Oberoi for business and Madhavan for his son's swimming training.
Thackeray also mentioned many Indian businessmen are moving abroad.
The actors said they still work in India and in government‑sponsored films.
The debate shows different views on where people should live and how they support their country.
Raj Thackeray criticized actors Vivek Oberoi and R Madhavan for living in Dubai while praising PM Narendra Modi.
He questioned why the actors, who support Modi, choose to reside abroad with their families.
Thackeray cited the actors’ involvement in government‑sponsored film projects and business interests as reasons for relocation.
The actors said they moved to Dubai for personal reasons: Oberoi for business expansion, Madhavan for his son’s swimming career during the pandemic.
Thackeray also noted a broader trend of Indian businessmen migrating overseas over the past 12 years.
