Mumbai Airport Completes Runway Maintenance, Reopens at 5 PM
The Mumbai airport closed its runways for six hours on May 8th to do some important work.
The airport needed to check and fix the runways, like fixing the lights and cleaning them up.
This is like giving the airport a check-up before the rainy season.
Workers made sure everything was ready for the monsoon, so planes could land and take off safely.
This work was planned ahead of time so everyone knew what was happening.
After the work, the airport went back to normal at 5 PM, and planes started flying again.
Mumbai's CSMIA completed scheduled runway maintenance on May 8.
The maintenance occurred between 11 AM and 5 PM, affecting both runways.
A NOTAM was issued in advance to stakeholders.
Preventative maintenance included pavement and electrical work.
