Bengaluru's Second Airport Location: Decision Soon
Imagine Bengaluru needs another airport because more and more people want to fly!
Right now, there's only one.
The government is figuring out where to build the new one.
They're checking out two spots: one in South Bengaluru and another in Bengaluru Rural.
Experts will give their opinion soon.
The government will then decide.
Because of some rules, they can't build it too close to the existing airport until 2033.
Building an airport takes a long time, so they're starting the planning now.
The government will consider things like how many people will use the airport and what businesses need.
They will also look at how things have been done in other cities like Delhi and Mumbai.
The best spot will be picked based on what works best for everyone!
AAI will submit an expert report on potential sites for Bengaluru's second airport.
Two locations under consideration: Kanakapura Road and near Nelamangala-Kunigal Road.
The government will discuss the report and make a final decision.
Current law restricts a new airport within 150 km of KIA until 2033.
Factors like passenger needs and industrial requirements will influence the decision.
