TMC MP Alleges Rs 57 Lakh Fraud from Dormant Account
A politician named Kalyan Banerjee is concerned because someone took about 57 lakh rupees from an old bank account that he didn't use anymore.
He used to have this account when he was a local leader in the past.
The people who did this supposedly used a fake picture of him and fake ID cards to get into his account.
They also changed the phone number connected to it so they could get all the secret codes that come with bank messages.
Mr. Banerjee is worried because if this can happen to someone like him, it could be even scarier for regular people.
The police are now looking into it to find out who did this.
TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee claims Rs 57 lakh was siphoned from his dormant bank account.
The account was linked to his previous tenure as a West Bengal MLA and had been dormant for years.
Banerjee alleges fraudsters used his superimposed photograph along with fake Aadhaar and PAN cards.
He also claims fraudsters added a new phone number to divert OTPs and transaction alerts.
