Hyderabad Launches 30 Traffic Patrol Bikes
Hyderabad has a lot of vehicles, about 95 lakh, and it's growing by 1,500 to 2,000 new vehicles every day.
The city has only about 2,500 to 3,000 traffic personnel working in two shifts to manage this.
To help with the traffic, the Hyderabad City Security Council (HCSC) started 30 new traffic patrol bikes.
These bikes will use real-time CCTV to clear accidents and breakdowns on big roads and flyovers.
They will also remove illegal parking and pushcarts that block the main roads and help with traffic jams in smaller streets.
The city police commissioner, who is also the chairman of HCSC, launched these bikes.
He also talked about other initiatives like traffic marshals who help students, patients, and senior citizens at busy intersections.
There are also special vehicles called 'Spandana' that are run by women to help women and girls in trouble.
Ten such vehicles are working now, and they plan to have them in every police station using electric cars that are good for the environment.
Many important people from the police and companies were there at the launch.
