Nellore Approves Two New Sand Reaches to Boost Availability
Nellore district has approved two new places where sand can be collected.
The new reaches are at Gollakandukuru and Devarapalem.
Officials say they are intended to help meet people’s demand for sand for construction.
Two existing reaches can also keep operating to collect the sand still left there.
Their permission lasts until May 31, 2027, or until the remaining sand is collected, whichever happens first.
The committee also set a price for sand recovered from land at Perumallapadu.
The district Collector asked officials to work together so people can get sand more easily.
