Jamia Approves One-Year Postgraduate Programmes Across 13 Disciplines
Jamia Millia Islamia plans to offer shorter, one-year postgraduate courses.
Students can study through distance learning or online classes.
The university approved programmes in 13 disciplines.
Eleven of them are Master of Arts courses in subjects such as English, History and Sociology.
It will also offer a one-year MBA.
Another course will be a Master of Commerce in Business Management.
Jamia’s Centre for Distance and Online Education will run the programmes.
The decision follows the National Education Policy 2020 and University Grants Commission rules.
The approval was recorded in an order issued on September 21.

The approved offerings include 11 Master of Arts programmes, an MBA and a Master of Commerce in Business Management.
The Master of Arts subjects include Education, English, Geography, Hindi, History, Human Resource Management, Islamic Studies, Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology and Urdu.
Jamia’s Centre for Distance and Online Education will implement the programmes under the National Education Policy 2020 and applicable University Grants Commission regulations.
