Supreme Court Reduces Sentences in 24-Year-Old Tiger Trade Case
Two men got in trouble a long time ago for having tiger parts.
The police found tiger skin, horns, and teeth in their car.
They were originally sentenced to six years in jail.
However, a long time later, the Supreme Court looked at the case again.
The court decided that the men were young when it happened and didn't kill the tigers themselves.
So, the court reduced their jail time to three years.
They also have to pay a fine to help animals.
This happened because of a case that started over 20 years ago.
The Supreme Court reduced the sentences of two men convicted in a 24-year-old wildlife trade case.
The men were arrested in Nagpur in 2001 for possessing tiger skin and animal parts.
The original sentence of six years of rigorous imprisonment was reduced to three years of simple imprisonment.
The court cited the men's youth at the time of the offense and lack of evidence of direct poaching.
