UP Court Grants Bail to Maulana in Bareilly Riots Case
A court in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, has given conditional bail to Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan and another person.
They were accused of causing violence over some posters that said 'I Love Muhammad'.
The court said they can't leave the city without permission and must help with the investigation.
The violence happened on September 26, where many people threw stones and bombs at the police, and more than 20 police officers got hurt.
The court has also filed charges against 38 people involved in the riots.
A court in Bareilly granted conditional bail to Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan and another accused in the Bareilly riots case.
The bail was granted on furnishing a bond of Rs 1 lakh each, with conditions that they cannot leave the city without permission and must cooperate with the investigation.
The violence erupted on September 26 over a dispute linked to 'I Love Muhammad' posters, resulting in injuries to more than two dozen police personnel.
Ten cases were registered across various police stations, and a chargesheet has been filed against 38 accused.
Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan remains in jail as his bail is pending in six other cases.
