NDIS Support Services: Budgets, Eligibility, and Access Explained

NDIS Support Services: Budgets, Eligibility, and Access Explained

The NDIS helps eligible people pay for disability-related supports.

Each plan usually has three main budgets.

Core funding pays for everyday help, such as personal care, household tasks and joining community activities.

Capacity-building funding pays for services that help a person develop skills or independence, such as therapy.

Capital funding pays for certain equipment or changes to a home or vehicle.

A support must be related to the person’s disability and meet the NDIS reasonable-and-necessary rules.

People choose providers and agree on how supports will be delivered and paid for.

Support coordinators or local area coordinators can help people understand and use their plans.
