Shringla unveils vision for Siliguri
Harsh Vardhan Shringla, a member of the Rajya Sabha, has shared a big plan for Siliguri, a city in India.
He wants to make Siliguri more than just a place people pass through.
His plan, called 'Vibrant Siliguri – Vision 2047', includes building new schools, hospitals, and better roads.
He also wants to connect Siliguri to nearby hill towns with cable cars and protect the area's wildlife.
Siliguri is important because it's near other countries like Nepal and Bhutan, and it's a key part of India's plans to connect with the Northeast and its neighbors.
Harsh Vardhan Shringla unveiled 'Vibrant Siliguri – Vision 2047' to transform Siliguri into a national hub.
The vision document focuses on infrastructure, education, healthcare, urban transport, and border management.
Proposed projects include a central university, an AIIMS-level healthcare facility, and cable car connectivity to hill towns.
Siliguri's strategic importance lies in its position as the gateway to the Northeast and its proximity to neighboring countries.
The vision document was launched at an event organized by the Siliguri Citizens’ Forum.
