Shiv Sena (UBT) and MNS Alliance for 2026 Municipal Elections
Two political parties in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena (UBT) and MNS, are planning to work together in the upcoming city elections.
They will contest the elections in six big cities, including Mumbai.
The formal announcement of their alliance is expected this week.
The elections are very important because the parties want to prevent the BJP, a rival party, from gaining too much power in these cities.
The elections will be held on January 15, 2026, and the results will be counted the next day.
The parties are also trying to get the Congress party to join them in this effort.
The ruling Mahayuti alliance is focusing on securing a majority in the BMC and ensuring a Marathi mayor in Mumbai.
In Thane, there are 33 wards with 16,49,867 voters and 1942 polling stations.
The main issues in Thane include severe traffic congestion and potholes, which have caused accidents and deaths.
