JMM Seeks 12 Seats in Bihar Polls, Cites Jharkhand Support
The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) party is asking the RJD, a political party in Bihar, for 12 seats in the upcoming elections.
They are reminding the RJD that in the recent Jharkhand elections, the RJD was given seats and a ministerial post.
The JMM is hoping the RJD will return the favor.
While talks have begun, no formal agreement has been made yet.
In the last Bihar elections, the JMM tried to join forces but ended up running on their own, losing all their seats.
The Congress party also has its own seat demands, which may complicate the agreement.
JMM is seeking 12 seats in the Bihar Assembly elections from the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan.
JMM is referencing the 2024 Jharkhand elections where RJD was given six seats.
Informal discussions have occurred, but no formal meeting has taken place yet.
In 2020, JMM contested five seats in Bihar and lost all.
The Congress is pushing for 70 seats, which could make seat-sharing difficult.
