Bengaluru Woman Loses Rs 90,900 in Alleged Unauthorised Bank Transactions
A woman in Bengaluru named Ritu Maheshwari is upset because she says over Rs 90,000 disappeared from her bank account.
This money was taken in three separate chunks, and she insists she never allowed it to happen.
She didn't get any special codes (called OTPs) that usually prove you're the one making a purchase.
She believes the bank's systems for spotting fake money-taking are broken.
The bank, however, says the money was taken with permission because the proper codes were used.
The woman reported this to the bank and the police, and a case has been started.
Even though she reported it quickly, the bank had already blocked her card because it noticed something strange was happening.
Bengaluru woman Ritu Maheshwari claims Rs 90,900 was debited from her account without authorization.
The money was lost in three separate transactions of Rs 30,300 each, occurring between 3:24 am and 4:03 am on October 1, 2025.
Maheshwari alleges she did not receive any OTPs and did not authorize the payments, citing a lapse in the bank's fraud detection systems.
The bank claims the transactions were authorized through OTPs.
A First Information Report (FIR) was registered by Mico Layout police under the Information Technology Act, 2000.
